A plethora of people have been noticing a swarm of students wearing a common shirt. Does the word thit! look familiar? If so, you have also noticed the black shirt with bright letters with your own eyes. It seems I see at least one thit! shirt each day.
So what is thit!? This is a very good question. In fact, I have heard it asked many times within the last few weeks. Even my first period teacher asked the class what thit! is. Obviously, a strong curiosity is building amongst the school, and this is exactly what the people behind the scenes of thit! want.
My uncle is the founder of thit!, and I have heard some answers to common developing questions. First of all, thit! is a soon-to-be social networking site. Many people wonder how it will vary from Facebook or Twitter. Although this is a great question, it can only be answered by you. Once the site officially opens around the New Year, it is up to you to browse the site and create your own interpretation of it. There is only one person who can give you a true opinion, and that is you.
Nonetheless, there will be certain twists to the new site that will make it fresh and unique. Most of these twists are to be kept covert, but I am able to release one fact. On thit!, users will have the ability to either “spread” or “stop” a thit. For example, if someone posts a thit to their lurkers (similar to friends), then those people can either stop the thit or spread it to their lurkers. The original user can then see how many people his/her thit was spread to.
My uncle said his motivation behind thit! is “to create a presence to capitalize on the future of social networking.” He has seen how big Facebook and Twitter have become and realized he wanted to try to start something similar. He explained starting a new site as “getting into the game for when opportunity arises, or simply buying land so that later on a house can be built on it.”
I am excited for the site to open. I have heard and seen complaints of what Facebook is transforming into, so maybe it is time for a change. Thit! could be a revival of the social networking world. It is also very unique that the origin of the new site is local. Not many cities can claim to see the birth of a social networking site, and nowSioux Falls will be one of the few.
Until the site opens and you can explore the enigmatic thit! for yourself, it is okay to keep curious. Thit! is currently open by invitation only, but the word is spreading, and you can obtain more information from a friend in a thit! shirt.
